On Saturday March 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM and I know it’s a little ways off but the Color Festival is one activity that you really don’t want to miss. I’m mentioning it now for a couple of reasons one of which is you can get a 10% discount if you buy tickets now at their website by clicking here. It’s also happening in Spanish Fork, Utah so if you want to go and you live in Idaho like I do then you’ll probably want to make plans to car pool with some people to save on gas money.
Believe me when I say that The Color Festival is so much more exciting when you go with a big group of family or friends. Two years ago when I went we had a blast and even a friend of mine that really didn’t want to go said he really enjoyed it. So what happens at the event is thousands of people show up at the Krishna Temple and there’s a DJ playing music and every hour they have a count down and throw colors up into the air and it’s like nothing I’ve ever done before. The trick is to stand in the middle of the crowd when the count down is happening because after everyone throws their colors into the air it turns into a thick brown mist that you can only see the person next to you because its so thick but really quite radical. If you want a really awesome photo then stand at the top of the Temple balcony and take a picture of you and your friend at the end of the countdown right as the colors are bing thrown into the air and its like a giant cloud of colors really a sight to behold. One more thing is if you wear a white t-shirt you can get some really great photos when you do.
